Dunstable Select Board seats new member, awards dam contract, and mulls PFAS testing program. The board, meeting for the first time with full three-member membership after welcoming David Tully III, voted unanimously to award an $18,395 contract to Extreme Shock Freak LLC for repairs to the Raceway at Woodward's Mill Dam, funded through Community Preservation Act money. Members also filled three vacant committee seats, Tully to the Affordable Housing Committee, Ronald Mikol to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board of Trustees, and Chair Leah D.
Basbanes to the Master Plan Implementation Committee, and approved a Council on Aging Facebook page under the town's 2023 social media policy. Town Administrator Jason Silva briefed the board on a resident proposal to use PFAS mitigation funds for private well testing modeled on a Westford program capped at 50 households, raising unresolved questions about public-record obligations and remediation liability; he was directed to develop a formal proposal after consulting with Westford and the resident who brought the idea forward, Brian Flynn. Silva also reported that the Oak-Main-Mill Street intersection redesign needs between $25,000 and $40,000 in new funding to reach final design, with the town currently holding zero dollars for the project outside its original technical-assistance grant.
