Dunstable Select Board Approves $284,600 Forestry Truck Contract

Select Board · Meeting of August 11, 2026

Dunstable Select Board approves $284,600 forestry truck deal after a grant compliance snag. The board voted unanimously to void its contract with Allegiance Fire and Rescue and instead sign with Nevada-based Rebel Brush Trucks, piggybacking on an Oregon League of Cities cooperative purchasing agreement after the original vendor could not meet FEMA specifications for the grant-funded truck. Town Administrator Jason Silva told the board a joint budget working group with Groton has previously projected "about a $620,000 deficit" for fiscal 2028, driven by the regional school district's assessment, though newer figures look smaller.

The board also adopted an updated Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, approved building, gas and plumbing permit fee increases expected to add roughly $8,797 and $1,700 in annual revenue, respectively, and granted a one-day liquor license for an August 22 wedding at Camp Massapaw.
