Dunstable sets Nov. 2-6 review of new property values
The Town of Dunstable announced Oct. 28 that preliminary FY2027 property values, part of a state-required revaluation, are open for public review Nov. 2-6 before final state certification.
The Town of Dunstable announced Oct. 28 that the Board of Assessors is completing the FY2027 Quinquennial Revaluation of all real and personal property in town, a year-long process required under state statutes and Department of Revenue regulations. The goal is to assess property at full and fair market value as of Jan. 1, 2026.
The new values have been preliminarily approved but are still pending final certification from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, and they are subject to change during the disclosure period.
A public review of the proposed values will run from Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, through Friday, Nov. 6, 2026. Residents can examine the figures at the Assessor's Office or the Dunstable Public Library during that window.
The revaluation relied on arms-length property sales from calendar year 2025, with 2024 sales used for property classes that lacked enough 2025 sales for analysis. According to the town, single-family home values increased between 5% and 7%, vacant land values rose approximately 5%, and commercial and industrial property values increased overall by approximately 4%. The town noted that individual parcel valuations may differ from these class averages because of data updates and corrections, new construction, and the effects of market trends on specific property characteristics.
Residents with questions about their assessments can contact the Assessor's Office at (978) 649-4514.
