Dunstable Select Board Renews Police Chief Horr to Two-Year Contract

DUNSTABLE — June 24, 2026 — Dunstable Select Board approves two-year police chief contract and names chief acting town administrator. The two-member board, operating with one seat vacant ahead of a July 21 special election, unanimously approved an employment contract with Police Chief Eric Horr running July 1, 2026 through July 30, 2028, and voted to appoint him acting town administrator from June 26 through July 3 while the town administrator travels internationally. The board also placed three part-time police officers at grade C and a police department cleaner at grade E on the town's new compensation schedule, effective FY27, with each employee receiving a minimum 2.5 percent increase after being inadvertently excluded from an earlier comp-and-class study. In election business, the board authorized in-person early voting for the July 21 special election at Town Hall, July 13 through 16, nine to five daily, a schedule the town clerk recommended after Saturday early-voting turnout in prior elections was "dead." A preliminary cost estimate of roughly $250,000 was also cited for an Oak Street and Main Street intersection redesign under development with MassDOT and engineering consultants GPI and TAC.
