DUNSTABLE -- December 30, 2025, Dunstable Select Board closes 2025 with police hire, comp plan, and a deepening budget warning. Meeting on December 30, the two-member board, Chair Leah D. Basbanes and Member Ronald Mikol, voted unanimously on nine items, including the appointment of local resident Zachary Millett as a part-time police officer through June 2026, and adoption of a Collins Center compensation and classification study establishing a 10-step salary schedule with three percent between steps for all town employees. The board approved a $24,070 website redesign contract with Revize Software Systems through December 2028, revised small-container liquor license rules following pushback from license holders, and authorized a grant application for a rapid flashing beacon crosswalk sign at High and Main streets ahead of a January 9 deadline. Town Administrator Jason closed the meeting with a budget update revealing the FY27 deficit has grown beyond $640,000, worsened by a surge in Greater Lowell Technical High School enrollment from Dunstable, now 13 students versus roughly nine previously, adding an estimated $100,000 in unexpected assessment costs.
