DUNSTABLE — The Select Board unanimously authorized a new electricity supply contract for Dunstable's Community Power Program on March 27. Town Administrator Jason Silva presented recommendations from municipal aggregation consultants regarding a replacement contract to take effect upon the December 2026 expiration of the current Dynegy Energy Services agreement. Consultants reviewed pricing scenarios for 12-, 24-, and 36-month terms, explaining that forward electricity prices have risen significantly due to global instability.
The board voted 3-0 to authorize the contract for a maximum three-year term, prioritizing long-term rate stability for residents over attempting to time the market.
